FILOPATRIA NA ABELHA SOLITÁRIA, CENTRIS AENEA (APIDAE: CENTRIDINI)

Resumo

Este estudo aborda o comportamento e ecologia da abelha solitária Centris aenea. O objetivo foi verificar a filopatria das fêmeas desta abelha. O estudo foi realizado em uma agregação de ninhos, na área de Restinga em Coroa Vermelha, Santa Cruz de Cabrália, Bahia. Para averiguar a ocorrência e aspectos da nidificação foi realizado visitas mensais, entre dezembro de 2021 à dezembro de 2022. Durante o período reprodutivo, armadilhas de emergência e marcação no dorso do tórax das fêmeas emergentes foram utilizadas para posterior verificação destas na fundação de novos ninhos. Centris aenea revelou ser uma abelha univoltina e protandrica. Além disso, das 14 fêmeas emergentes marcadas, 11 voltaram para nidificar no agregado. Assim, a filopatria que tem sido sugerido, em alguns estudos, para espécies de abelhas solitárias foi confirmada neste estudo para C.aenea.
