This article analyzes the contemporary medicalization of weight loss through “weight-loss pens” as biopolitical technologies of body control. The aim is to examine how these devices reinforce structural fatphobia, the normalization of thinness, and the commodification of suffering. The method consists of a critical theoretical-documentary analysis grounded in biopolitics, pharmacopornography, and fat studies. The findings show that these drugs intensify bodily discipline, increase inequalities, and convert social violence into clinical demand. It is concluded that weight-loss medicalization does not promote care but reproduces mechanisms of control, exclusion, and profit over fat bodies.
