Because the interest of engineering in the development of Non-Destructive Tests (NDE) for the evaluation of materials and structures, this article addresses the use of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) in the investigation of concrete rigid pavements. The method operation bases are presented, as well as the stages of collection, processing and interpretation of their responses, whose knowledge was applied in the study of the concrete pavement of the Public Transport System Transfer Station in the Campinas/SP city. The results achieved prove the adequacy of the GPR for non-destructive investigation of rigid pavements, in particular to check the positioning of the reinforcement bars and the thickness of the concrete slabs, especially when the GPR responses are processed to assist the data interpretation. The study contributes to the development and dissemination of the GPR system as a support tool in the analysis, maintenance and supervision of concrete rigid pavement works.
