ECONOMIC BEHAVIORALISM AND REGULATION: AN ATTEMPT TO IMPLEMENT CROP-LIVESTOCK FOREST INTEGRATION

Abstract

Due to massive population growth, there was a large increase in agribusiness production in Brazil, since it is one of the largest producers of labor and livestock in the world. It turns out that this growth ends up leading to an increase in environmental degradation, and measures are necessary to mitigate it. The Crop Livestock Forest Integration (ILPF) presented results that indicate its contribution to sustainable agriculture. Despite having legal provisions, the system requires effective implementation. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze the ILPF, through economic behavior and the failures of choice of rural producers. Can the economic regulation of economic activity contribute to the implementation of ILPF? If so, how? In principle, contemporary police power will help implement the ILPF and reduce choice errors by the subjects involved. A theoretical-documentary methodology was used, with deductive technique. It is concluded that the economic control mechanisms of the activity must be used to implement the system by taking care of choice failures of rural producers.
