Abstract

This article aims to discuss the thinking on temporalities developed by Ghassan Kanafani (1936-1972). In the 1960s, responding to a moment of urgency and crisis, the Palestinian writer developed an acute and inventive approach to contemporary times in several of his works. This can be particularly observed in the main focus of this study, the novel All that's left to you (1966). Considering the recent discussions in the theory of history about heterochronies, the goal is to explore the writer's unique treatment of temporal multiplicity. To this end, the article examines the temporal dimensions associated with the characters and the construction of time in the book. In this way, it suggests that, more than merely expressing temporal diversity, Kanafani can be seen as a contemporary thinker of multiple times.
