Art direction in the suburbs: interview with Inés Olmedo

In this interview, given in May 2025, Inés Olmedo—Uruguayan art director, teacher, and artist—reflects on her training and professional career, the partnerships she has built over the years, and the importance of drawing in the practice of art direction. The artist recalls notable films from her career, such as El baño del Papa (César Charlone and Enrique Fernández, 2008), and projects such as Rina, la primera. She also shares her thoughts on the technological innovations emerging in the contemporary scene and their impact on creative processes and visual culture.
