Abstract

This is a consideration about the process of the Carnival’s spectacularization, in which the theme of Organized Supporters of Samba Schools (TOES) of Rio de Janeiro is discussed. The objective is learning about elements that constitute strategies used by the “sambistas” to be part of the daily life of the school. Observation and interviews were used as resources of field research – which was conducted from December 2015 to February 2016. The TOES are characterized by strategies for occupying the spaces that make the schools’ universe, forming a field of possibilities of symbolic belongings, multiplication, recognition and legitimacy.
