Abstract

When presenting abstract concepts for the deaf, two questions must be listed: the difficulty the deaf have to directly access these concepts, and the possible mistakes made by a Sign Language Translator and Interpreter, a teacher, or even the deaf student, due to an insufficient grasp of sign language. Considering that metaphysics and other philosophical disciplines demand a capacity for abstraction, we must ask: would it be possible to develop a model for the interpretation of metaphysical content for the deaf? From the historical-cultural perspective, we conducted a bibliographic research, with the presentation of a pedagogic proposal, observing that the deaf can appropriate metaphysical concepts by utilizing associations.
