This article presents a reflection about possible articulations between the Totaly Method, from Edgar Morin, and the Communication and Journalism researches. It discusses the approaches of the academic discourse as an opening of spirit (keeping in mind its role of universal knowledge), especially in the Communication area, and its attempts to afirm itself by paradigms, according to Thomas Kuhn. The ideas are chained so as to express the chaotic scenario as empirical dispersion, looking for an speculative way of thinking, capable to articulate polarities and to propose possible paths to the communicative dialectic in terms of the Paradigm of Complexity.
