Literary surveys in the Belle Époque and mediatic dramatization, from Huret to Henriot

Literary surveys became progressively popular in the second half of the 19th century, but became a media phenomenon with the publication – both in a newspaper and in a book – of interviews carried out by Jules Huret, in 1891. This reporter created a survey pattern that would become the recipe for success in later initiatives. We will address aspects of this model and present a case study that reflect the dramatization and the theatricalization strategies used: a literary study by Émile Henriot published, in a newspaper (1912) and in a book (1913).
